Very early spring

We are starting to notice a little bit more daylight now, and are enjoying some signs of spring indoors with pots of bulbs.

New life: tete-a-tete daffodils. January 2014.

New life: tête-à-tête daffodils. January 2014.

I do love watching these delicate little flowers unfurl in the warmth of the house.  It reminds me that more light and warmth are on the way, and that everything grows towards the light.

I hope that the start of this new year is bringing you fresh hope too.

  1. Oh it feels so good knowing Spring is on it’s way. The Pussywillows are beginning to bloom I noticed yesterday. This evening it was light until nearly 5:30pm here in WA state. Whooo Hooo!! I am very ready.

  2. Isn’t it amazing when you notice just a little more light. I just mentioned I noticed the same thing to my family. My wheat grass in my inside flower pots needs to be “mowed.” I like your pretty blooming bulbs. Thanks for letting me admire them :) xx

  3. Daffodils already?Hurrah! :-)

  4. Spring is definitely on its way…..bulbs in my garden are already starting to poke through.

  5. I’m going to plant daffs in pots next winter for a touch of spring when I need it!

  6. Yes! I’m noticing more light — particularly from 5-5:30 the light seems so lovely. And its much more than we had in December. Still snow on the ground here and we are to have quite cold temps all week.

    Your mitts are lovely!

  7. That’s a charming reminder of warmer days to come, Christine.

  8. I am dreaming…..

  9. Spring bulbs….wonderful harbingers of spring! I heard a skylark yesterday too! :) xx

  10. It is so good to feel that spring is going to come, eventually. Paula, my mother used to always fill a vase with pussy willows at this time. I found some for sale in town and splurged!

Tina, how wonderful to hear the skylark.

  11. I think I need to get some pussy willows. What a lovely idea! Blessings to you too, my friend, as this new year unfolds.

  12. Oh, they will be so delightful when in full bloom!!
