Pushing Out the Boat 9 at the Word Festival

The launch of Pushing Out the Boat issue 9 took place on Sunday.   It is another beautiful issue with varied and interesting artwork, and writing in English, Doric and Scots.  It was such a pleasure to hear writers read the work that was written in dialect.  I have a poem, “Winter Lights Within” in this issue.  It was great to catch up with people:  a friend took a snap of me with Gráinne Smith and Graeme Roberts.

Graeme is the Consulting Editor for Pushing Out the Boat; Gráinne is a local playwright, poet, and writer of two important non-fiction books, Anorexia and Bulimia in the Family (Wiley, 2004) and Families, Carers and Professionals (Wiley, 2007).  She is the inspiration behind the website.
