Ships in town

My husband Michael is very witty.  I remember when we first moved to Aberdeen, we were startled to turn the corner and find ships “parked” across the street.  Michael said, “Shall we go see if our ship has come in?”  And indeed, several ships of ours have come in over the years.  We have many things to be thankful for.

I’m still a little surprised sometimes when I see the ships in the middle of town.  Here’s a view down Guild Street at about 6:30 p.m. last Thursday.  The cluster of bright white lights at the end of the street are lights on one of the ships in the harbour:

Here’s wishing that our ships will all come in, and more to the point, that we will be able to recognise them when they do!
