Anticipation: knitting for the yet-to-arrive

Amongst our friends and acquaintances there are two very pregnant ladies and we are expecting news any day now of some small people come into the world.  Needless to say (or should that be needles to say? ha ha) I have been knitting:

Molly Colly models a baby hat.  The pattern is free on the internet, Baby Hat with Leaf Edging by Lauren Eade.

The Dafter kindly allowed me to borrow her doll, Molly Colly, to try one of the hats on.  I think it looks like it should fit a newborn.  Talk about tiny delights!

  1. This is such a sweet little hat.The mum to be will be very pleased..

  2. What a beautiful hat, you’re so clever with your knitting!

  3. A very pretty little hat. A very lucky baby! xx

  5. So pretty! Baby knitting is my favourite kind of knitting of all 🙂

  6. Fabulous hat, Christine.

  8. cute hat! I’m impressed with your leaves. I thought it was a crown at first, in honor of the Jubilee. 🙂

  9. Cute hat! The mom-to-be will be very pleased. 🙂
    Happy Jubilee weekend.

  10. Thank you everyone! ajb, I hadn’t thought about it being a crown hat for the Jubilee, that would be funny.

  11. What a fun day! Scotland looks like a giant gorgeous manicured park to me. Impossibly beautiful!

    • The description is very apt! Glad you enjoyed my day out.

  12. Adorable! You are such an accomplished knitter!

    • Well I don’t know about accomplished – there were a few mistakes in those hats but the babies won’t care and I hope the mamas will be too busy to notice!
