  1. Such colour and joy, Christine. I just know that you’ll be finding the same in your new abode.

  2. Hello you, blogging 60 miles and 5 minutes away!
A lovely collection of happy summer images to take with you.
The Eddie Izzard Postman Pat made me laugh. I have a love-hate relationship with Postman Pat, having read the books out loud what seemed like non-stop for 2 weeks to our then 3 year old son, on a rainy holiday in Sweden.
Happy 21st to your son – and all good wishes for the flitting.

  3. What lovely memories of your last summer in Aberdeen, and what a summer it’s been, weather-wise! Here’s to lots more happy summers in your new home in Glasgow. I really must go to Storybook Glen some time.

  4. Loved the post. So green! More like desert here, so brown, this rain most welcome.

  5. Lovely to see the Dafter up and about outside. Good luck with the move. I am sending you the cookbook after you are in there. One less thing for you to pack.

  6. Loved this post. Postman “Eddie” made me laugh, and I loved the pic of The Cutest Telly Tubby too, lol! Lots of great memories and fun times too, thanks for sharing, xxx

  7. So many lovely memories of your last summer in Aberdeen, and what a charming garden you have there! The Dafter looks so happy, hope she’ll love her new home in Glasgow. Happy 21st to your son too! The gorgeous weather is gone now, and we are just getting a thunderstorm after the other. Hope the sun will be back soon and will welcome your arrival. 🙂

  8. Thanks for posting, Christine! You have captured so many delightful memories…I am smiling at you 🙂
    Gracie xx

  9. Beautiful summer memories in your beloved Aberdeen, Christine! I love the beach scenes and I see you have a Ferris Wheel there- Seattle just put up a lovely one a couple years ago that I have yet to enjoy. Although it does look too high for me! Your garden flowers are so lovely, as is your daughter enjoying these beautiful summer days. I do think Tilly is the prettiest little cat – she has no clue what lies ahead, does she? A new home to explore – how exciting. Lovely photos of your summer so far. xo

  10. WordPress: “your comment could not be posted” GRRRRRR

    • Sorry….I spent some time putting the comment together and wordpress trashed it. I didn’t need that.

  11. Just a note to say I hope your ‘flit’ goes well and it’s not too stressful – is that even possible I wonder?! I hope you enjoy your new life in Glasgow. It’s a lovely city and very friendly normally so I’m sure you’ll fit right in. Safe journey. x

  12. Beautiful 🙂 so amazing to see the Dafter out and about like that

  13. Great to see the Dafter out and about and looking well. Your son bears a striking resemblance to my nephew! Those socks look amazing!

I Am glad your packing up is going well. How nice it will be to be together again without the back and forth. The hardest thing for me when Dave and I are apart is that eventually I get used to it and not really in a good way. We’ve been apart for nearly two weeks now, and I am looking forward to reconnecting (and maybe having a quiet dinner) this weekend.

  14. Looks fab! We have finished holidays and it’s sadly back to work. I have a new 1st grader this year, so we have an exciting fall ahead. Post coming soon:)

  15. Dear All,
Thank you so very much for all these kind comments and good wishes! The Dafter and I were saying this afternoon that we can almost feel people’s good wishes boosting us. I’m sure the next few weeks will have their stresses, but I also know we have a lot of good things to look forward to. Tilly has been taking “chill pills” from the vet and isn’t too stressed, which helps all of us.

Yes, it is wonderful that the Dafter is making an improvement. She still has a long ways to go but what a difference since being bedbound 7 weeks ago!

I’m glad people liked “Postman Eddie” – though I can understand the feeling of overdose on a particular children’s book too.

oldblack, I’m so sorry you couldn’t post your comment! Please try again on another post. As great as the internet usually is, it can also be a right pain at times.

  16. I understand you will miss Aberdeen because it is so full of warm memories. You will soon discover new places in Glasgow and bit by bit they will become as meaningful. All the best with the move.
